Because I am disabled I bought a used 2006 Chrysler Town And Country Lwb on august 2, 2010. On the way home the steering failed. Because this failure could have caused an accident, I took it to two dealers for estimates and wound up having the rack and pinion and loose tie rods replaced on august 9, 2010.

The steering began to whine and groan, particularly when cold and not having been driven for a day or more. It often continues to whine, especially when being turned more than one full circle, but sometimes even when sitting still and straight. The repair shop identified leaking steering rack boots and the fluid is a…

Air bag light went on in my 2006 Chrysler t&c van, took to dealership to check out. Found out on line previous year 2005 had a recall for exact same problem (over 250,000) vehicles, since my year did not have a recall required to pay 320.00 for repair. Don't understand, since obviously problem still exists why I had…

In march of 2009 we purchased a 2006 Chrysler town&country minivan from a Chrysler dealer with 27k miles on it. I purchased an extended warranty. In the past month I realized the airbag light was on and this week I took it into the dealer for inspection and repair. The dealer contacted me and told me the 2 sensors in…

Discovered that valve stem had broken off. Valve stem is attached to TPMS sensor and replacement valve stems are not offered. The breaking of the valve stems seems a common occurrence. Very disconcerting. This happened while driving, even though I did not notice until later and luckily, the tire did not deflate…

I have had to replace 3 bridgestone el42 tires due to them having small pinholes in the sidewall. The first tire was on 2005 Chrysler town & country and the second and third tires on a 2006 town & country. Each tire had small pin holes in the sidewall. I told the bridgestone dealer that I thought the tires were…

The catalytic converter was replaced so nys inspection could be passed. In may of 2014 I was told that it is bad again & needs a replacement but the shop can't get it because the regulations have changed to use ca standards and the unit US not available. This US resulting in unreasonable expense.

Our 2006 Chrysler town & country minivan had experienced a broken axle at just 16,000 miles. Quite a short distance for something like that to happen.
Owner report to NHTSA, 2007, at 16,000 miles
Left front drive axle shaft broke while driving slowly in destin florida while we were on vacation. If this had happened while I was driving 70 MPH on the interstate I can imagine several tragic consequences. This van is gently driven, well-maintained, and gave no warning of failure before-hand.

I have a 2006 Chrysler town & country that has a braking system that is too small for the size of the van. I am on my third set of front brakes and my second set of rear brakes. Turn signal will flash either right or left, and actually changes to right when turning left, and left when turning right. The passenger side slider door gets requested to open from the overhead console switch by the driver to let out my 6 year old son for school who has his book bag with him.
